Nathalie du Pasquier’s Gabon textile was the result of an ‘ethnic-metropolitan’ mix of sources, including rock music, comic book graphics and trips to Africa, Australia and India. In a typically postmodern manner, du Pasquier explained that ‘the geometric motifs are the result of a jerky dance my imagination was engaged in’.
