Mutina originates from a dual insight — the desire to elevate ceramics through richly tactile surfaces, and the ambition to invite some of the world’s leading designers to engage deeply with ceramic materials.

This unique approach led Mutina, founded in 2005, to redefine what ceramics can be — not only in terms of scale, texture, and composition, but also in creativity, narrative, and experimentation.

Mutina is an "author’s project" developed with a remarkable group of collaborators: Michael Anastassiades, Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Nathalie Du Pasquier, Konstantin Grcic, Hella Jongerius, Laboratorio Avallone, OEO Studio, Raw Edges, Inga Sempé, Patricia Urquiola, Vincent Van Duysen, and Tokujin Yoshioka.

Since its inception, Mutina has embraced form, innovation, and creative dialogue. In 2017, these values gave rise to Mutina for Art — a non-profit initiative designed to support contemporary artistic practices. It reflects Mutina’s belief that art should be a space for exchange, discovery, and lasting inspiration.
